I am a photographer first and a commercial photographer by vocation. Whether for work or play, back yard or in another land, I take photos all the time. When a personal image works, it thrills me and I want to
share it. Begun in the fall of 2003, the Photo of the Month is my way of sharing one image at a time with you. They are not commercial images. They are personal and a way for me to say, “Hey! Look at this cool image that came to me! I love it and hope you do, too! Let’s celebrate the magical medium of photography together once a month.”
I was a writer years before I was a photographer. In the summer of 2009, I began including the story behind the image as a way to work on a book project one month and one essay at a time. The essays are about getting into the mind of a photographer, but NOT about technical stuff.
I hate spam just like you. If anyone on the list considers the Photo of the Month as spam in any way, for goodness sake, let me know that you want off the list. Please. No hard feelings.
These images are low-rez files, less than a megabyte. If you have a hard time opening a Photo of the Month, let me know and we’ll try to figure out how to make it work or I’ll take you off the list.
