"Location lighting" was the topic of an intense week-long workshop with master photographer, Joe McNally (Sports Illustrated, National Geographic, etc.) in early March 2006 at the Santa Fe Workshops. Joe was a most excellent and entertaining teacher and Santa Fe and the surrounding area provided a rich backdrop for several field trips. I cannot recommend Joe as a teacher and the SFW as a learning venue highly enough. Pictured (by fellow student, Jennifer Spelman) is a recumbent Neil setting up a shot in the JW Eaves Movie Ranch just outside of Santa Fe where MANY movies have been filmed since it was built in the 1960s. Joe McNally helps arrange the model's skirt and gun. The resulting image was Neil's April 2006 Photo of the Month.
